Epoche increases holdings to 534,480 shares following six open-market transactions
Chairman Jin’s personal acquisitions this year total 1.22 million shares across 62 separate transactions
Jin Yang-gon, Chairman of HLB Group, is intensifying his share acquisition strategy by leveraging his private investment vehicle alongside personal purchases. His latest move involved the acquisition of over 200,000 additional shares in HLB Genex, continuing a broader trend of reinvestment into group affiliates.
According to HLB Group on the 15th, Epoche—a financial investment firm 99% owned by Chairman Jin—purchased 207,897 shares of HLB Genex (187420) through six open-market transactions between November 6 and November 14. Consequently, Epoche’s stake in HLB Genex has risen from 326,583 shares to 534,480 shares.
Prior to this, from September 23 to October 1, Epoche acquired 218,718 shares of HLB Innovation and 130,584 shares of HLB Therapeutics on the open market. Including the recent HLB Genex acquisition, the investment vehicle has purchased a total of 557,199 shares across the three affiliates in recent months.
Chairman Jin has also been consistently buying affiliate shares in his own name. Since the beginning of the year, he has conducted 62 transactions to purchase a total of 1,224,029 shares across six affiliates, including HLB Innovation, HLB Panagin, HLB Therapeutics, HLB Genex, HLB BioStep, and HLB Pept.
HLB Group explained that these acquisitions reflect the Chairman’s assessment that the current enterprise values of the affiliates are undervalued relative to their growth potential. The group noted that Jin is expanding his investments through both personal accounts and the corporate entities he controls.
“Chairman Jin’s continuous and repeated share purchases are a direct demonstration of his confidence in the future growth of the group and its affiliates,” an HLB Group official stated. “This reflects his commitment to supporting the long-term growth of the affiliates, strengthening responsible management, and enhancing both corporate and shareholder value.”
Meanwhile, HLB Genex is currently bolstering its competitiveness in industrial specialty enzymes and bio-healthcare materials. Its flagship product, Catalase, is seeing expanded applications in semiconductor manufacturing processes, while the company is also diversifying into textile enzymes and enzymes for pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing.
