Over 100 institutional investors and analysts attend Group IR Day, featuring participation from 10 listed subsidiaries.
Companies share key development timelines, including HLB’s liver cancer drug, HLB Therapeutics’ Phase 3 trials, and CAR-T initiatives.
HLB Group is leveraging the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of its cholangiocarcinoma treatment, 'LYRFIGTU' (generic name: rifirafenib), as a springboard to accelerate the development of follow-on innovative drugs and expand its footprint in next-generation therapeutics. The group has solidified its post-initial drug growth strategy, highlighting key business areas across its subsidiaries, including liver cancer drug approvals, Phase 3 clinical trials for dry eye syndrome, and the development of CAR-T cell therapies.
HLB Group announced on the 15th that it held the '2026 HLB Group IR Day' at the Hana Securities Hanmaeum Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, with approximately 100 institutional investors and analysts in attendance.
Ten listed subsidiaries participated in the event, with five—HLB, HLB Therapeutics, HLB Genex, HLB Innovation, and HLB Panagene—presenting their primary business achievements and upcoming development timelines.
HLB Group outlined a strategic direction aimed at building a growth foundation that does not rely on a single drug. The group intends to utilize the expertise accumulated during the drug development process to advance follow-on oncology treatments and cell therapies, while further broadening its business scope into diagnostics and bio-materials.
HLB unveiled plans for the U.S. market launch of LYRFIGTU, the pursuit of European regulatory approval, and a strategy to expand indications to include various cancer types. The company also identified the FDA approval of its liver cancer drug and the securing of new oncology pipelines as core objectives, with a long-term goal of becoming one of the world's top 100 pharmaceutical and biotech firms by 2030.
HLB Therapeutics highlighted the upcoming top-line results for the Phase 3 U.S. clinical trial of its dry eye treatment, RGN-259, scheduled for November. Based on the trial results, the company plans to pursue technology exports to global pharmaceutical companies and expand indications for conditions such as Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency (LSCD), while strengthening the profitability of its existing cold-chain business.
HLB Innovation shared the current development status of its blood and solid tumor therapies using the KIR-CAR platform from its U.S. subsidiary, Verismo Therapeutics. The company aims to expand its pipeline while utilizing HLB Cell to grow its cell therapy business across Korea and Asia. Its existing semiconductor business will continue to serve as a revenue base to support further bio-sector expansion.
HLB Panagene introduced 'PALymorph,' its proprietary Antibody-Oligonucleotide Conjugate (AOC) therapy platform, for the first time.
The company aims to derive its first therapeutic pipeline by 2027 based on its PNA material technology. Furthermore, it plans to expand its business by integrating spatial proteomics and AI-based diagnostic technologies into its existing molecular diagnostics business.
HLB Genex presented a strategy for overseas expansion centered on its specialty enzyme business, including the supply of catalase to global semiconductor manufacturers. The company intends to strengthen the growth base of its core business by discovering new enzyme materials and expanding into new industrial applications.
Following the individual presentations, a comprehensive Q&A session was held with the management teams of all 10 listed subsidiaries.
Investors focused their inquiries on the resolution of manufacturing facility issues related to HLB’s liver cancer drug and the go-to-market strategy following regulatory approval. Other topics included the differentiation of Verismo’s KIR-CAR T therapy from existing CAR-T treatments and how HLB Panagene’s AOC platform intends to overcome technical limitations in PNA therapy development.
Business-specific issues were also discussed, including investments in HLB Pharmaceutical's production facilities and profitability improvement plans, as well as strategies to enhance the competitiveness and performance of the contract research organization (CRO) business, HLB BioStep.
Jin Yang-gon, Chairman of HLB Group, stated, "After countless efforts and setbacks, we finally saw our first flower bloom with LYRFIGTU. However, looking back, I realize that what we have been cultivating is not just a single flower, but a tree capable of blooming continuously. Based on the experience and capabilities accumulated throughout the entire drug development process, we will continue to achieve success in our follow-on pipelines, including our liver cancer drug and CAR-T therapies."
